The Colosseum

Colosseum
The Colosseum is a massive stone amphitheatre located in Italy's capital city. This theatre used to hold thousands of people who gathered to watch gladiator battles and wild animal fights. Today, two thirds of the this stone structure has been destroyed, but it remains an important Italian landmark. ("Colosseum")

The Trevi Fountain

Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain is Italy's most renowned fountain. The Trevi Fountain took nearly 30 years to build and showcases a central triumphal arch, mythelogical figures, natural rock and gushing waters. Traditionally, viewers may throw a coin into the water over their shoulder. At the end of each day, the coins are collected and donated to charity. The Vatican

Vatican City
Vatican City is the worlds smallest fully independent nation-state, and is the seat of the Roman Catholic Church. The Vatican palace is home to the Pope who lives within the city walls. Famously, within Vatican City is Michelangelo's famous frescoes that can be found in the Sisteen Chapel. ("Vatican City")
